This bill appropriates an unspecified amount of money from the state general fund for the fiscal year 2026-2027 to the department of administration, which will then distribute it to Yuma County. This funding is intended for Yuma County to purchase a parcel of state land and establish either a county park or a state park in partnership with the Arizona State Parks Board. Additionally, the bill directs the State Land Department to work with stakeholders in counties with populations between 200,000 and 230,000 to auction off a parcel of state trust land within such a county for the purpose of creating a state or county park. Importantly, the appropriation made by this bill is exempt from lapsing, meaning it will remain available until it is fully spent, as per section 35-190 of Arizona Revised Statutes.
