This bill amends the Environmental Protection Act by removing provisions that established the Environmental Laboratory Certification Committee and deleting any references to this committee within the law. The Environmental Laboratory Certification Committee was a group that previously had a role in determining assessment schedules for laboratories seeking certification to conduct environmental analyses, particularly for public water supply, water pollution, and hazardous waste testing. This bill effectively transfers the authority for establishing these assessment schedules solely to the Agency, which refers to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
