This bill authorizes the State of Mississippi to issue up to $175,000 in general obligation bonds, which are backed by the full faith and credit of the state, to help the City of Byram fund the replacement of a pipe and related work on Alixandria Drive in the Lake Christine subdivision. The funds will be managed through a dedicated "2026 City of Byram Alixandria Drive Pipe Replacement Fund" within the State Treasury, and any remaining money after the project is completed will be used to pay off the bonds. The State Bond Commission, referred to as the "Commission," will oversee the issuance and sale of these bonds, which must be issued before July 1, 2030, and will mature within twenty-five years. The bill also specifies that the bonds will be negotiable instruments, exempt from Mississippi taxes, and legal investments for certain financial institutions.
