This bill amends the Nursing Home Care Act to establish new reporting requirements for nursing facilities regarding resident incidents and accidents. Specifically, it mandates that nursing homes must notify the appropriate regional office of the Department of Public Health within 24 hours, or by the end of the next business day, after any incident or accident that results in significant physical harm or injury to a resident, or any situation where a resident needs immediate medical attention, such as hospitalization, directly due to an incident or accident. Furthermore, the facility must submit a detailed written summary of each such reportable incident or accident to the Department within five days of its occurrence, utilizing the Office of Health Care Regulation LLCS Portal for these notifications.
