This resolution commends Frances Wade, a dedicated civil servant who retired on December 31, 2023, after 41 years of service to the Circuit Court of Henry County. Starting in 1982, she held various roles, including documenting land records and issuing marriage licenses, and gained extensive experience as a microfilm clerk, genealogist, and probate clerk, becoming a valuable source of knowledge for her colleagues. In recognition of her leadership, she was appointed master chief deputy clerk in 2016 and played a key role in modernizing the office by assisting with the digitization of microfilmed deeds. Beyond her local service, she also contributed to the preservation of circuit court records as a records manager with the Library of Virginia. The resolution acknowledges her tireless efforts and professionalism in serving the public and expresses the admiration and best wishes of the Senate of Virginia for her retirement.
