This bill amends Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA) Title 7, Chapter 82, Part 3, which governs utility districts. Specifically, it clarifies that in Gibson County, commissioners for utility districts established under the Utility District Law of 1937 are not restricted from serving more than two consecutive terms. The existing law, TCA Section 7-82-307(a)(2)(D), previously had a limitation on consecutive terms for commissioners in certain population ranges, but this amendment removes that restriction for Gibson County, allowing commissioners to serve indefinitely if reappointed.
