This bill extends the period during which the commercial exploitation of a deceased individual's rights to their name, photograph, voice, or likeness can be controlled by their executor, assignee, heir, or devisee from ten years to one hundred years after their death. This change, which amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 47, Chapter 25, aims to provide a longer-lasting protection for the property rights associated with a person's identity after they have passed away, allowing their estate or designated beneficiaries to continue benefiting from or controlling the use of these rights for a significantly extended duration.
