This bill requires the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services to conduct a study, using its existing resources, to evaluate county veterans service offices, including their staffing, accreditation, operating hours, and budgets. The study will also identify areas with fewer veterans' services by analyzing veteran populations, comparing them to accredited officers, and noting counties without full-time officers, as well as assess the operational capacity and local outreach efforts for veterans. The department must then compile a report of these findings, including potential funding solutions for these offices, and submit it to the governor and legislative leaders by December 31, 2026, with this section of the law expiring on January 1, 2027.
