This bill adds a new category: students enrolled in the state's Medicaid program, which is a government-funded health insurance program for low-income individuals and families. By including these students, the bill aims to provide more funding to schools that serve a larger population of economically disadvantaged students, thereby supporting their educational needs. This change will take effect on July 1, 2026, and will apply to TISA allocations starting with the 2026-2027 school year.
