This bill requires any person or entity making telephone solicitations using an automated telephone dialing system to deliver artificial or prerecorded voice messages to residential subscribers in Tennessee to keep records of how many such calls they make each month. Starting October 1, 2026, those making at least 500 calls per month must provide these records to the commission (likely referring to a state regulatory commission) every six months, and also upon request from the commission or the attorney general. Furthermore, the bill prohibits making more than 10,000 such calls per month, and a violation of this limit is considered an unfair or deceptive practice under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act of 1977, carrying penalties of at least $1,000 per violation, in addition to other penalties.
