This bill amends Tennessee law to expand the definition of criminal trespass to include entering or remaining on property without permission by operating a motorized vehicle or bicycle, such as all-terrain vehicles, electric bicycles, or motorcycles. Previously, criminal trespass primarily involved physical intrusion of the body or unmanned aircraft. The bill also escalates the penalty for criminal trespass involving a motorized vehicle or bicycle to a Class A misdemeanor, mandating a $2,500 fine and restitution for damages, and allows for the seizure and forfeiture of the vehicle upon a second or subsequent offense. These changes are intended to address situations where vehicles are used to unlawfully access or damage private property and will take effect on July 1, 2026.
