This bill, titled the "Climate Resilient Tennessee Act," establishes a new Office of Resilience within the governor's office to coordinate and lead state efforts in preparing for and mitigating the impacts of climate change. The bill also creates a Resilience Task Force, composed of various state department commissioners and other experts, to provide strategic direction, and an Inter-Department Resilience Coordination Team, made up of resilience coordinators from each relevant department, to ensure alignment and oversee the development of the statewide plan. The bill mandates public engagement through meetings and comment periods on the draft plan, and requires the office to submit updated resilience plans every five years.
