This bill modifies the Ocoee River recreation and economic development fund by expanding the purposes for which its monies can be spent, allowing for infrastructure upgrades within the Ocoee River management zone, tourism promotion and economic development activities that benefit the zone (including hiring event coordinators and contributing to nonprofit events), and other necessary expenses for the board's operations. Additionally, it changes the composition of the Ocoee River recreation and economic development fund board by replacing the park manager member with the director of the division of state parks, effective July 1, 2026. The bill also addresses the transfer and future issuance of permits related to the Ocoee River, allowing existing permit holders to transfer their permits under certain conditions and capping the number of new permits issued after July 1, 2026, with a reduction in the maximum number of permits over time.
