This resolution amends several rules for the Ninety-first General Assembly's Senate, including expanding the types of anniversaries that can be recognized by a "senate resolution" (a resolution acted upon only by the Senate concerning matters of national or international accomplishment, dedications, significant anniversaries of governments or organizations, state ties to other governments, retirements, or internal Senate administrative matters), clarifying that a subcommittee chair must notify the committee chair one legislative day before bringing a bill or resolution before the committee without a mandatory waiting period after the report is received, granting former senators access to the Senate chamber except during legislative debate or when advocating for or against legislation, specifying that House-originated bills or resolutions will be referred to a committee or attached to a companion Senate bill or resolution, and removing provisions related to announcing delegations from the governor or House and supervising the seating of visitors and press.
