This resolution, passed by the Mississippi House of Representatives, commends and congratulates the Mississippi Communication Association (MCA) on its 100th anniversary in 2026. The MCA, founded in 1926 by educators and scholars, has dedicated itself to the study, teaching, and advancement of human communication, serving as a professional organization committed to excellence in communication education, research, and public discourse throughout Mississippi. For a century, it has provided a forum for sharing scholarship, fostering collaboration, and promoting ethical and effective communication in classrooms, communities, and civic life, significantly strengthening higher education in the state by supporting faculty and student development. The resolution acknowledges the MCA's role in preparing generations of Mississippians for leadership and success and expresses appreciation for its century of service, wishing the association continued success in its second century. Copies of the resolution will be sent to the MCA and the Capitol Press Corps.
