This bill mandates that specific state divisions and programs, including those within the Departments of Aging, Commerce, Labor, Natural Resources, Transportation, Health, and Veterans and Military Families, as well as the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, Public Service Commission, and Maryland State Archives, must offer walk-in service to the public. This service is to be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, at least one day per week between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and at reasonable locations. For divisions or programs that already offer in-person appointments, walk-in service must be available at every location where these appointments are held; otherwise, at least one location must be designated for walk-in service. This legislation is set to take effect on October 1, 2026.
