AI Summary

This bill amends the Hospital Licensing Act to cap the amount a hospital can charge its employees for health insurance premiums. Specifically, a "covered hospital employee," which includes a broad range of hospital staff and certain contracted workers involved in patient care or support services, cannot be charged more than 10% of the total cost of their health insurance premium. A "health insurance premium" refers to the cost of medical, dental, or vision coverage. This provision applies to "large hospitals," defined as those with at least $1 billion in net patient revenue or part of a health system with that revenue. Any agreement that requires a covered hospital employee to pay more than 10% of their premium will be considered invalid and unenforceable. Hospitals that violate this rule will face a civil penalty of $500 for each employee affected.
