This bill, by adding a new section to Chapter 198 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri (RSMo), requires all facilities licensed under that chapter, referred to as "long-term care facilities," to carry liability insurance. This insurance must cover instances of death or personal injury to residents and guests that are caused by the negligence of the facility or its staff. Specifically, the policy must have a minimum coverage of one million dollars for each incident and a total of three million dollars for all incidents combined within a year.
