Upon a legislator's request, the Department of Insurance will gather data from health insurers and administrators about potential premium increases or decreases, the number of Kansans affected, and whether federal law might preempt the proposed legislation, and then compile this information into a report within a specified timeframe, ensuring that individual insurer names and trade secrets are kept confidential and the data is not subject to public records requests until July 1, 2031.
