This bill amends Alaska Statute (AS) 41.35 to allow individuals to collect certain fossils for personal use on state-managed land, excluding state parks and game refuges, with specific daily limits on the amount of fossils or aggregate material collected, and a limit of one large invertebrate fossil, provided these fossils are not for research or public dissemination and will not be sold for commercial purposes; it also clarifies that personal use collection must occur in open areas, use only hand tools that are not electric or battery-powered, and cause minimal surface disturbance, while also expanding the definition of historic, prehistoric, and archeological resources to include fossilized tracks and burrows and defining "certain fossils" as plant fossils, invertebrate animal fossils, or fossilized tracks or burrows made by invertebrate animals.
