This resolution recognizes and commends The Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association (GAPABA), a professional organization founded in 1993 to support attorneys and individuals interested in Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) legal issues in Georgia. GAPABA, chartered as an official chapter of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, advocates for the interests of the AAPI community, promotes the professional growth and opportunities for AAPI lawyers and law students, and supports their advancement in the legal profession. The resolution also acknowledges the work of GAPABA's non-profit arm, The GAPABA Law Foundation (GLF), which has provided over $350,000 in support for legal internships, programs, and fellowships, as well as specific initiatives like The Trinh Huynh Fellowship for AAPI community litigation and The Hemanth Digumarthi Public Interest Scholarship for law students pursuing unpaid public interest internships. The resolution directs that a copy be provided to GAPABA.
