This bill expands the medical cannabis program by allowing regulated processors to manufacture medical cannabis in edible form for certified patients, with specific requirements for edible products including approved shapes, forms (lozenges or gelatins), a maximum of 10 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per serving with a 15% variance, and prohibitions against certain additives, colors, and designs that resemble candy or are attractive to children, all of which must be marked with a universal symbol. Additionally, dispensaries will now be required to input information about medical cannabis dispensing into the controlled substance monitoring database, which is a system used to track the distribution of controlled substances to help prevent drug abuse and diversion.
