This bill amends the Assisted Living and Shared Housing Act to allow assisted living establishments and supportive living establishments, which are types of residential care facilities, to offer approved training courses for certified nursing assistants (CNAs) directly at their locations, provided these courses meet the standards set by the Nursing Home Care Act and the Department of Public Health. Specifically, the bill clarifies that the supervised clinical training portion of a CNA program can be completed either on-site at these facilities if they can demonstrate they meet the necessary requirements for resident care, or at a skilled nursing or intermediate care facility through an approved agreement. Furthermore, it ensures that the Health Care Worker Registry, a database of individuals who have completed required training and are eligible to work in healthcare settings, will include information about where an individual received their clinical training, and the Department of Public Health is authorized to make necessary rule changes to implement these provisions.
