This bill amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois to establish a Small Business Grant Program, which will provide grants to eligible small businesses. To qualify for these grants, a business must have 25 or fewer employees who receive a W-2 form (a tax form for employees), operate a physical store that is independently owned and located within Illinois, and cannot be a non-profit organization. The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is the state agency responsible for economic development and business support.
