This bill relates to budgets of local emergency management agencies. Code section 29C.17(2) specifies the methods and sources for funding a local emergency management agency and provides that such methods and sources are determined by the local emergency management commission. The bill specifies an exception to the commission’s authority by providing that if the funding source is a countywide special levy, such levy must be approved by the board of supervisors. The bill applies to local emergency management agency budgets for fiscal years beginning on or after July 1, 2027.
