AI Summary
This bill amends the Environmental Protection Act to increase funding for brownfields redevelopment by directing the State Comptroller and State Treasurer to transfer $5,000,000 annually from the Underground Storage Tank Fund to the Brownfields Redevelopment Fund, starting on July 1, 2026, and continuing each year thereafter. The Brownfields Redevelopment Fund, which supports the cleanup and reuse of contaminated properties, will now be able to use these funds for issuing grants or providing additional financial assistance, and importantly, removes previous limitations on the maximum grant amounts that municipalities could receive under the Municipal Brownfields Redevelopment Grant Program, allowing for larger projects to be funded.
