This bill requires public schools in New Jersey, referred to as "participating schools," to make it easier for families to apply for subsidized school meals. In addition to any existing requirements, these schools must now prominently display a link to the application for these meals on their website. Furthermore, they must also provide a link to at least one informational video created by the New Jersey Office of the Food Security Advocate, which is an office dedicated to addressing food insecurity, to help explain the application process. This measure aims to increase access to nutritious meals for students by simplifying the application and information-gathering steps for families.
