This concurrent resolution establishes the Economic Development Incentive Modernization Task Force, a group tasked with studying and recommending improvements to Kentucky's economic development strategies. Recognizing that the state's current approach has been in place for over 30 years and may be less competitive than those of other states, the task force will assess the effectiveness of existing initiatives, incentives, and policies compared to those of competitor states, examine successful marketing campaigns and targeted sector updates implemented elsewhere, and propose actions to enhance Kentucky's economic development efforts. The task force will be composed of legislators from both the House and Senate, representatives from relevant state cabinets, and leaders from various business and economic development organizations, with a deadline of December 1, 2026, to submit its findings and recommendations to the Legislative Research Commission.
