AI Summary
This bill requires app store providers, which are companies that operate platforms where users can download apps, to verify the age of each account holder. For minors, defined as individuals under 18 who are not emancipated, app store providers must ensure their accounts are linked to a parent account, and parental consent is required before a minor can download an app, purchase an app, or make in-app purchases. This consent process involves providing parents with information about the app's age rating, content, and data collection practices. Developers, who create apps, must also verify age category data and parental consent before allowing minors access to apps or making changes to them. The Attorney General is granted authority to enforce these provisions, and there are exceptions for developers who demonstrate good faith reliance on the age verification and consent processes.
