Any such agreement entered into or requested after January 1, 2027, will be considered void and unenforceable, and officials who violate this provision will face consequences like disqualification from voting on related matters and a requirement to disclose the existence of the agreement. However, exceptions exist for agreements that solely protect trade secrets, financial, or proprietary information.
