This bill extends the repealer, which is a provision that automatically ends a law after a certain date, on the authority of the Board of Supervisors of Noxubee County, Mississippi, to levy an assessment for capital improvements. This assessment can be added to other court costs for civil cases and misdemeanor convictions or nonadjudications, which means cases where a person is found guilty or where a case is resolved without a formal judgment of guilt, in their Justice Court. The funds collected from these assessments, which are capped at $50 for implied consent law violations and $25 for other misdemeanors and civil cases, will go into a special fund called the "Noxubee County Capital Improvements Fund" to pay for projects that improve county infrastructure. Originally set to expire on July 1, 2026, this bill pushes that expiration date to July 1, 2030.
