AI Summary
This bill modifies existing school code provisions regarding contracts for food service management companies. It mandates that any contract for goods, services, or management in a school's food service, including those participating in federal child nutrition programs, must not exceed one year in duration, though it can be renewed annually for up to four additional years. Additionally, these contracts must include a clause allowing either party to terminate the agreement for cause with a 60-day notice. Furthermore, all competitive bids for such food service contracts will be evaluated using standardized scoring criteria developed and published by the State Board of Education, ensuring transparency and fairness in the bidding process. The school board will be required to keep a record of these evaluation scores and share them with all bidders within 10 days of awarding the contract.
