This bill amends the Invest in Illinois Act, a program that provides incentives for businesses. The key changes are that the Minority Leader of the Senate and the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives will now receive notices about agreements under the Act, similar to how the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House currently do. Furthermore, these Minority Leaders will also have the ability to object to these agreements, meaning their consent, along with that of the Senate President and House Speaker, is required for agreements to take effect and for funds to be disbursed. This bill is effective immediately upon becoming law.
