Bill Summary

This bill specifies that a Wisconsin registered interior designer may supervise construction of an interior alteration or interior construction project for which the Wisconsin registered interior designer has signed and sealed interior technical submissions. Under current law, a person who satisfies certain requirements may register as a Wisconsin registered interior designer and use the title “Wisconsin registered interior designer.” Current law also requires a Wisconsin registered interior designer to impress his or her seal or stamp on interior technical submissions that are submitted for an interior alteration or interior construction project, and if a city, village, town, or county requires a seal or stamp on interior technical submissions that are submitted for such a project, the city, village, town, or county must accept interior technical submissions impressed with the seal or stamp of a Wisconsin registered interior designer.

AI Summary

This bill allows a Wisconsin registered interior designer, who is a professional licensed in Wisconsin, to supervise the construction of an interior alteration or interior construction project if they have signed and sealed the relevant technical documents, known as "interior technical submissions." This means that for projects where they have provided the official plans and designs, they can now also oversee the actual building process, which was not explicitly permitted before. The bill clarifies that this supervision is for projects where the interior designer has applied their official seal or stamp to the submitted plans, signifying their professional responsibility for those designs.
