This bill establishes a new process for the Secretary of State to issue "jailer service cards" to individuals who are currently serving or have previously served as a jailer, which is an elected or appointed official responsible for a county jail in Kentucky. To be eligible, an individual must have served as a jailer and not have been removed from office or disqualified from holding public office. The Secretary of State will create rules to verify applicants' qualifications, establish application procedures, and design the card, which will identify the holder, indicate whether they are currently serving or have served in the past, and specify the county where they held the office. Applicants will be responsible for the cost of producing the card, which will not exceed the actual production expense.
