This resolution commends Halifax Pharmacy for its 130 years of dedicated service to the South Boston and Halifax County communities before its closure on September 30, 2025. The resolution acknowledges the pharmacy's deep roots, dating back to the 19th century, and its significant impact, serving over 10,000 patients annually, which represented more than a quarter of Halifax County's population. It also highlights that Halifax Pharmacy was the last independent pharmacy in the county and recognizes Stephen Anderson, PharmD, the owner who acquired the business in 2020, for his and his staff's hard work and determination. The resolution directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to prepare a copy for Mr. Anderson as an expression of admiration for the pharmacy's contributions to the health and well-being of the community and the Commonwealth.
