The bill defines "eligible school" to include these alternative educational settings and "eligible student" as a student enrolled in one. It clarifies that public schools and charter schools cannot prohibit these eligible students from trying out for and participating in events or activities like athletics, fine arts, or integrated cocurricular activities, as long as they meet the same residency, physical, behavioral, and financial requirements as students enrolled in the public school. The bill also includes provisions for disciplinary and attendance policies, ensuring they are applied equally to all students, and establishes a twelve-month waiting period for students who disenroll from a public school to attend an eligible school and then seek to rejoin public school activities.
