This bill requires municipal water providers in Arizona that receive water from the Central Arizona Project (CAP) to estimate the cost of obtaining an alternative water supply if their CAP water is completely unavailable, and to notify their customers of potential rate increases by April 15, 2026. The notice must be similar to those required of public service corporations by the Arizona Corporation Commission, detailing potential revenue increases for different customer classes, the estimated monthly bill increase for a typical residential customer, and the current and potential bill amounts and percentage increases. Municipal providers must also mail this notice to customers, publish it in a local newspaper, and post it on their website. This requirement is temporary and will be repealed after December 31, 2026, with "municipal provider" having the same definition as in existing state law. The bill is declared an emergency measure, meaning it takes effect immediately.
