This bill requires charter schools in Arizona to be more transparent about the employment contracts of their top financial and administrative officials. Specifically, charter school governing bodies must submit copies of employment contracts, including any amendments or extensions, for their chief financial officer or highest-ranking school administrator to the state board for charter schools. This applies to contracts from the past five years and any new contracts within 30 days of being signed. The state board will then post these contracts online for at least five years after employment ends, and create a searchable database detailing salaries, performance pay, retirement and insurance contributions, leave, and other benefits for these positions. Additionally, charter schools must also post these contracts on their own websites. Finally, the state board will compile an annual report by December 1st, summarizing key contract details for all charter schools and making it publicly available online.
