This bill, an act to amend Section 2206 of the Elections Code, aims to improve the process of removing deceased individuals from voter registration lists by authorizing the Secretary of State to collaborate with the federal Social Security Administration. Currently, the Secretary of State is required to obtain death statistics from the State Department of Health Care Services to cancel voter registrations of deceased persons.
