This bill amends existing Idaho law concerning disturbing the peace by expanding the definition of what constitutes a disturbance. Specifically, it adds "religious gathering" and "house of worship" to the list of places whose peace can be disturbed, and it clarifies that disturbing the peace can occur through "firing" any gun or pistol, replacing the previous wording. The bill also introduces a new provision making it a misdemeanor to maliciously and willfully disturb the dignity or reverential nature of funerals, memorial services, funeral processions, burial ceremonies, or viewings of deceased persons. Finally, the bill declares an emergency and sets an effective date of July 1, 2026.
