This bill allows honorably discharged veterans residing in Wyoming to obtain a special decal to attach to their license plates, signifying their veteran status. To get this decal, veterans must provide documentation of their honorable discharge from the U.S. armed forces and pay an administrative fee, which will not exceed five dollars ($5.00) per set of decals for any one vehicle. These decals will be available at county treasurer's offices and, once issued, do not need to be renewed when a license plate is renewed, though a replacement fee will apply if a decal is lost or damaged. The bill also clarifies that a person can only obtain a veteran decal under this new provision or a previously established provision for women armed forces veteran decals, but not both. This new law will take effect on July 1, 2026.
