Previously, speed monitoring systems were authorized in specific locations across several counties, including residential districts with low speed limits, school zones, and certain highways like Maryland Route 210 in Prince George's County, Interstate 83 in Baltimore City, and Maryland Route 175 in Anne Arundel County, as well as on highways identified as high-risk in safety plans. This amendment adds U.S. Route 1 in Howard County to the list of authorized locations for these speed monitoring systems, with the change taking effect on October 1, 2026.
