This bill requires pesticide businesses with subscription contracts for pest control with residential customers to inspect the property before each application, communicate inspection findings and recommendations (including non-chemical options) to the customer, and recommend the least toxic effective chemical option if needed, all of which must be documented. It also mandates the Department of Agriculture to establish a "Residential Pollinator Protection and Neighbor Notification Registry" where individuals can register if they wish to be notified of pesticide applications on nearby properties; this registry will include information about pesticide sensitivities, pets, and pollinator gardens, and the Department will provide a list derived from it to licensed pesticide applicators. Furthermore, when applying pesticides to lawns or exterior landscape plants, applicators must post a sign that remains for 48 hours, and for properties adjacent to registered individuals, applicators must provide advance notification and specific pesticide information, taking extra care to protect pollinator gardens and domestic animals.
