This joint resolution proposes an amendment to the Wyoming Constitution that would prevent individuals from being considered qualified electors or holding elected office in Wyoming if they also hold citizenship in a country designated as a "foreign adversary" of the United States. A "foreign adversary" is a country deemed hostile to the U.S. The resolution specifies that such individuals would not be considered U.S. citizens for these purposes unless they formally renounce their foreign citizenship. Furthermore, anyone seeking or holding elected office in Wyoming who voluntarily acquires citizenship in a foreign adversary would be considered to have relinquished their U.S. citizenship for qualification purposes. The legislature would be responsible for defining which countries are considered foreign adversaries.
