This resolution commends Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fredericksburg for its nearly 60 years of service to the community by facilitating one-to-one mentoring relationships that help young people reach their full potential. The organization, originally founded as Rappahannock Big Brothers in 1967 and later incorporating a Big Sisters chapter, was rebranded in 2018 to better reflect its service area, which now includes the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Caroline Counties. Through its core program and other initiatives, Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Fredericksburg has successfully matched hundreds of children with caring adult mentors and has adapted its services to better serve youth and families, all made possible by the support of community partners. The resolution further directs the Clerk of the House of Delegates to prepare a copy of this commendation for presentation to the organization, recognizing their positive impact on countless lives in the Greater Fredericksburg area and the Commonwealth.
