This bill requires the Department of Natural Resources to suspend commercial or recreational fishing privileges for individuals charged with fishing without a license under specific circumstances, particularly if they held the appropriate license in the previous year but failed to renew it. The duration of the suspension varies based on the offense: one month for a first offense, six months for a second, and one year for a third or subsequent offense. Importantly, individuals whose fishing privileges are suspended can still apply for a new license during the suspension period, but any newly issued license will be subject to the remaining suspension time.
