This bill authorizes certain professionals, such as healthcare providers, police officers, educators, and human service workers, to report suspected child sex trafficking or labor trafficking to a regional navigator, a designated entity that helps victims, even without the child's consent and over their objection if the reporter believes it's necessary to prevent serious harm. Labor trafficking is defined as coercing a child into providing services or labor through force, fraud, or deception, or benefiting from such coerced labor, while sex trafficking involves recruiting or soliciting a child for commercial sex acts. Additionally, the bill grants the Attorney General and State's Attorneys the authority to investigate and prosecute human trafficking offenses.
