The receipt would include, at a minimum:· the date that the application was received;· a checklist of all required documents or other verifications related to the application and the date on which each document was received; and· a list of all documents or other verifications still needed to complete the application and the date by which each item must be received.

AI Summary

This bill mandates that county welfare agencies or similar entities responsible for processing applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps, must provide applicants with a receipt confirming their application has been filed, regardless of whether it was submitted in person or electronically. This receipt is intended to offer transparency and clarity to applicants by including the date the application was received, a checklist of submitted documents and their received dates, and a list of any outstanding documents required to complete the application along with their due dates.
