This bill amends existing Idaho law to define "electronic storage detection dog" as a dog trained to locate electronic storage devices by scent, adding it to the list of protected animals under the statute that prohibits mistreating police dogs, police horses, search and rescue dogs, and accelerant detection dogs. The bill also makes technical corrections to the existing law, such as changing "which" to "that" in several places and adding a comma in one instance, and declares an emergency, making the changes effective on July 1, 2026.
